2015 WebMD Health Hero Glenn Close

Glenn Close accepts the award for 2015 People’s Choice Health Hero at this year’s awards gala November 5, 2015, at the Times Center in New York City.

The award-winning actress is turning the spotlight on the stigma that people with a mental illness often face. Her organization, Bring Change 2 Mind, aims to change public attitudes about those disorders. Glenn says one of the best things someone can do to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness is to befriend someone who has one. “You’ll see them as just another human being, someone who is just like you.”
